Fried Radish Balls

It’s insane that something so delicious comes from plain old radishes! All who eat them will truly understand Liyue’s culinary reputation.

One of the earliest recipes you’ll learn in Genshin Impact – and also one of the most unforgettable if you’ve ever had the opportunity to experience them outside of the game. Frying radishes is one of the easiest ways to mellow out the sharpness of taste from this root vegetable, and when combined with spices, breading, and a garnishing sauce of choice, makes for a fresh take on getting a vegetable into our diets that some of us would otherwise go to great lengths to avoid.

In this recipe guide, we’ll talk through how to make fried radish balls for yourself at home. Guaranteed to boost your ATK stat!

White Radish
Roasted Gram Flour
Coriander Leaves
Dry red chillies
Shah jeera
Cooking oil


4 ea
1/2 cup
2 tbsp
1/3 cup, finely chopped
6 ea, peeled
4 ea
1 tbsp, grated
1/8 inch piece
1 ea
2 cloves
1/4 tsp
As required
As per taste

Dishes & Tools

Vegetable peeler
Cheesecloth (or straining cloth)
Paper towels
Food grater
Small bowl
Mixing bowl
Frying pan
Mortar and pestle (or food grinder)

Cooking & Preparation

  1. Heat a bit of cooking oil up in your frying pan on medium heat.
  2. Add the shallots, dry red chillies, coconut, cinnamon, clove, garlic, and shah jeera. Fry for one minute.
  3. Remove the fried mixture from the pan, and using your mortar and pestle, grind it down into a paste.
  4. Peel your radishes, and grate them well.
  5. Using your cheesecloth, strain as much of the water and juice out of the grated radishes as you can. Put the finished result in your mixing bowl.
  6. Add the breadcrumbs, ground paste from earlier, salt, and coriander leaves. Mix everything thoroughly.
  7. Make small balls out of the resulting mixture.
  8. Put the roasted gram flour into your small bowl, and roll the radish balls in the flour.
  9. Returning to your frying pan, heat up a bit of cooking oil once more on medium heat.
  10. Fry the prepared radish balls until the outside texture is light golden brown, and slightly crispy.
  11. Remove the balls from the pan, and drain the excess oil using paper towels.
  12. Serve with your choice of sauce; Praveen recommends either coconut chutney or ketchup.
