What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site’s videos, we log the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection, and also for the rare event when we need to ban someone with ill intent.

Join form

The only pieces of information that are truly personal to you that we ask for in our join form are your email address and your Discord ID.

We will never share this information with any other entities, it is only viewed by a single “human” set of eyes, and it is only retained for the extent of time needed to validate or decline an individual’s join request, at which point, it is deleted from our system and never referenced again.

Cookies

Our site, in itself, uses only one cookie, and it’s used for our video player in order to retain playback settings on our videos for viewers who watch multiple videos in succession (such as making sure each video starts at the volume you set the last one to, instead of starting each video at full volume, etc.).

These cookies are not used for tracking of any kind, are salted (encrypted) so that they can’t be cross-site referenced, and are not shared with any other entities outside of our group’s administration.

Embedded content from other websites

Mihoyo’s content on this site may include embedded content (YouTube videos, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We do not use behavior analytics, or data mining of any kind.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its data are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For join requests, the information in the request is only kept for the duration of the request processing, and is removed after this has been completed.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments on videos here, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you on-demand. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
